MOTION FOR CONSIDERATION
THAT the following Consent Agenda items 12.1.1 to 12.1.8 be endorsed:
RACS 2016-041
THAT the Fraser Valley Regional District Board write a letter to the
Minister of Agriculture that:
• Shows appreciation, on behalf of the dogs and cats in the
FVRD, for the proactive step of recognizing the Canadian
Veterinary Medical Association's Codes of Practice for both
kennel and cattery operations as generally accepted
management practices for breeders;
• Voices its support for the move towards "Standards of Care" that
would make the new Codes of Practice legally-binding to ensure
an appropriate level of deterrence, in combination with a new
mandatory registration requirement;
• Expresses opposition to any potential downloading of
responsibly and/or costs associated with the implementation of
these new initiatives; and
• Requests the Ministry to work closely with the Union of British
Columbia Municipalities to ensure local government concerns
are addressed.

provide funds to help offset the costs of hosting the Cultus Lake Pike
Minnow Fishing Derby.

Country Festival.

AND THAT the purchase of these items be managed by the Regional
District who will also retain ownership of the items for the benefit of
the larger local community;
AND FURTHER THAT the Fraser Valley Regional District Board
request the two tents funded via a grant-in-aid in 2015 also be
considered assets of the Regional District.
